Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information Didote (the "Didote team," "we") collects and how we handle it. We aim to hold ourselves to a high standard (broadly aligned with the GDPR) even while we're small and pre-registration.

To provide and secure the Service; to generate the AI drafts and images you ask for; to manage your account, credits, and billing; to contact you with important service messages; to prevent abuse and fraud; and to improve Didote. We don't sell your personal information.

3. AI processing (important)

Didote's AI features rely on third-party providers:

When you use these features, the content you submit is sent to and processed by these providers to return your result. Files you keep locally in the Mac app are not sent anywhere unless you submit their contents to an AI feature.

We are confirming and will state here: whether these providers use submitted content to train their models, how long they retain it, and where it's processed. Until confirmed, assume content submitted to AI features is processed by these providers under their own terms. If you don't want specific content processed by AI, don't submit it to an AI feature.

4. Your clients' data

If you store or generate content about your clients (names, emails, project details, testimonials), you're responsible for having the right to do so and for telling your clients as your local law requires. We process that data only to provide the Service to you.

5. Sharing

We share information only with the providers who help us run Didote (see "Who we use" below), where required by law, or if the Service is ever transferred to a new operator (with notice). We don't sell personal data.

6. International processing

Because we use third-party AI, hosting, and payment providers, your information — and content you submit to AI features — may be processed in other countries, including outside your own. We take reasonable steps to work with providers that handle data responsibly.

7. Keeping and deleting data

We keep account data while your account is active. Locally stored files stay on your device until you delete them. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing support@didote.com. Some information may be retained where needed for legal or security reasons.

8. Your choices

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to certain uses, by emailing support@didote.com. We'll respond reasonably. When we're formally registered and (where applicable) subject to specific data-protection regulators, you'll also have any statutory rights those laws provide.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure — so please keep your own backups of anything important.

10. Children

Didote isn't for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We'll update this notice as Didote grows, with a new date on any changes.

Paid checkout is not live yet, so no payment provider currently handles any of your information. When it goes live, the provider acting as merchant of record will be named in this list before any payment is taken.
